The FTF-48 combines the rugged construction and precise computer control to produce an easy-to-use system with exceptional speed and accuracy.

In addition to being able to test 48 samples simultaneously, the FTF-48 also uses the latest in computer control and data collection for maximum flexibility and performance. United has eliminated troublesome micro switches and mechanical counters and replaced them with all solid-state electronics for counting and failure detection.

· The PC controls the cycling process and counts cycles on each specimen until failure. The count values are saved to a disk file every 100 strokes so that the data will not be lost in case of a momentary power failure.

· The count value of each sample is continuously shown on the monitor screen. When a sample fails, the display color for that sample changes from white to red to make the failure easy to spot.

· The test operation may be stopped at any time by the operator with no loss of data. When the system is restarted, the operator is given a choice to continue the in-progress test operation or to clear the count values and start testing a new set of samples.

· Data and control options can be easily added. For example:

• Preset a time or number of strokes to run.

• Set the machine to stop when a certain percentage of the 48 samples have failed.

• Create an automatic plot of failures versus the number of strokes.
